Eagerly awaited by many, he was quite a bit shy and dreaded of being in the limelight. But with a little encouragement, the ICE1 conquered the tracks and the hearts by storm.
With a prideful length of more than 400 metres and an impressive capacity of up to 800 passengers, this train is one of longest ICE units ever built. All around the German network, these trains can be seen travelling with speeds up to 280 km/h.
Despite being in service for almost 30 years as of today, the ICE1 is anything else than old-fashioned. All units have been comprehensively modernised during a modernization program. The drivers cab now has digital multifunctional displays and the complete passenger compartment has been overhauled.
This train is not to be overseen and rail traffic in Germany would not be the same without Germany's first high speed train.
In cooperation with Trainworks (sound) and Railworks Austria (technic), 3DZUG (models) has created the ICE1 elaborately with the newest PBR techniques. Using a lot of time, energy and an extra portion affection to detail, starting with the letterings on the trains up to the improved driving mechanics, we were able to create even details such as soilings, which were not possible to create on the formerly released ICE4
The train is delivered in the new modern design of Deutsche Bahn as it is today. All coaches are fully modelled and can be explored, showing a lot of details. Relax in 1st class coaches, visit the open carriage or get some refreshments in the restaurant car, while enjoying a memorable view out of the roof windows.
And for all of you, who favor green coloured liveries, we include the “clima-protector” livery, beside the normal DB livery.
Six exciting scenarios accompany this iconic high speed train and conclude this package.

As a British enthusiast who has only seen and travelled on an ICE 1 a handful of times, it's 5* from me. The model is lovely and great to drive. Only a couple of things, I thought ICE 1s made a different noise when departing from a standstill, like a scaling up noise, similar to the musical Taurus. The rear power car is also a bit quiet!
